The community of Dedham is located in the western corner of Hancock County. Dedham is a bedroom community of approximately 1300 people, many of whom commute the ten miles to Bangor, Bucksport or Ellsworth. There is little commercial development. Many people live around the various lakes in the area.

From the South: Take I-95 North to exit 182A - I-395. Take I-395 to the end and get off at exit 6A - US-1A. Bear right at the end of the ramp onto Main Rd/1A. Go about 5 miles until you see the school.

From the North: Take I-95 South to exit 182A - I-395. Take I-395 to the end and get off at exit 6A - US-1A. Bear right at the end of the ramp onto Main Rd/1A. Go about 5 miles until you see the school.

Facilities

The Dedham School has a nice building adequate to the needs of our programs. Classrooms are bright and cheerful and hallways are decorated with student work. Common areas include a computer lab, gym, library, instructional kitchen, art room, and a stage that serves as a music room. Hot lunches with salad bar are served in the gym at noon. A playground and playing fields are adjacent to the school and the wooded trails sometimes serve as an outdoor classroom.
